£1,600 raised in Charity Jazz Event

10 Jun 2008

Following the success of a similar event in previous years, Highgate House hosted an enjoyable afternoon of jazz on the 8th June, presenting one of the county's finest bands - the Ginger Pig Band to a crowd of 150 including the mayor of Northampton.

A combined total of £1,600 was raised for ‘the Lowdown', a voluntary organisation providing a multi-disciplinary support service to young people aged 12 to 25 years old, and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) - which was established in October 2003 to provide an emergency medical service for the heart of England region.

The elegant event included a champagne reception, traditional English Afternoon Tea and a charity raffle with music enjoyed throughout. It was also attended by Northamptonshire Enterprise's new Mobile Visitor Centre on its first outing.

General Manager at the property, Andrew Keen, reflects upon the event, "Highgate House endeavours to help local charities where possible, it was fantastic to see the afternoon attended by so many and be able to provide our chosen charities with a much deserved donation in return for the life changing work they do each day. The band set an amazing tone for a summer's afternoon which seemed to be thoroughly enjoyed by all."
