Managing Director Tim Chudley has recently been appointed External Fund-Raising Liaison of the registered Meetings Industry Meeting Needs Charity.
The Meetings Industry Meeting Needs (MIMN) is a registered charity founded by leading figures in the UK conference and events industry. All officers are unpaid and the charity passes on almost all of the money raised to worthy causes.
Current MIMN Ambassadors include key representatives of a variety of industry organisations and Sundial Group is already one of the supporting organisations.
The objective of the charity is to raise funds for worthy causes relevant to the events industry, and priority is given to smaller charities with low administrative costs which often do not have the resources to raise sufficient funds on their own. It is MIMN's goal to be the principal channel for charity fund raising and distribution in the Meetings Industry.
Recently funded causes include the provision of a well to provide clean water to a Zimbabwean village, and a donation to educate 60 street children on a Street Smart project in South America.
Other Charities aided by Meetings Industry Meeting Needs include; Plan UK, Derby Playhouse, Tuberous Sclerosis Association, Konnect9 Worldwide, St Raphael's Hospice, and the British Wireless for the Blind Fund.
Eager to be put in touch with new charities, Tim encourages any ideas to be put forward for upcoming worthy causes, "I'd like to hear about the links that people have with small charities and urge you to put them forward for consideration by MIMN. Equally, tell me about any fundraising ideas you have which could support MIMN. We are always looking to raise money and work with new charities that need our help."

ANNUAL AUCTION DINNER
Each year, Sundial Group attends the Meetings Industry Marketing Awards, designed to raise the standards of marketing in the meetings and events industry and to recognise marketeers. Previously, the event has entailed an auction on the night in which various companies donate prizes to raise money for charities. This year, an online auction has taken place, to which Sundial Group donated a Teamscapes activity day and buffet lunch.
The awards ceremony took place early this month, and all money raised through the auction is given directly to the charities that are helped through the Meetings Industry Meeting Needs organisation.
